Iceland in Summer

Date/Time
Date(s) - 06/06/2014 - 13/06/2014
All Day

This tour has been planned with Andy Jones of the Iceland Naturalist, and will be joint-led by Steve Sankey of Orcadian Wildlife.  There is a strong cultural link between Orkney and Iceland (the Orkneyinga Saga was written in Iceland) which we will explore.  It visits South and North-west Iceland, and as well as the spectacular scenery will concentrate on the specialist birds of the Icelandic summer: Barrow’s goldeneye, harlequin duck, red-necked phalarope, whimbrel and gyr falcon.  Cultural sites will also be visited and whales and dolphins may be encountered. Please contact Steve on enquiries@orcadianwildlife.co.uk for a full itinerary.  Cost £1,800 per person, all-inclusive except flights (Glasgow or London departures with Icelandair). THIS TOUR IS NOW FULL.
