A new venture for the 2015 season in partnership with the Birdwatching and Wildlife Club of the Grant Arms Hotel in Grantown-on-Spey. The tour itinerary includes 2 days in the Highlands: the forest and birds of Speyside (goldeneye, golden eagle, osprey, woodland grouse, crested tit) and a day in transit through Caithness & Sutherland across the Pentland Firth to Orkney (bottle-nosed dolphin, red kite). Once in Orkney we will spend 4 full days exploring the archipelago, and blending the 5,000 year-old World Heritage Sites (Ring of Brodgar and Skara Brae) with our island wildlife (seabirds and raptors: auks, puffins,gannets, hen harrier, short-eared owl) and coastal scenery (Old Man of Hoy) before re-crossing the Pentland Firth to return to Inverness. Arrival and departure point is Inverness using bus and rail stations or airport.  Accommodation will be provided by the Grant Arms Hotel in Speyside (2 nights) and Pentland Country House in East Holm (5 nights).
