Other carriers fly to mainland Scottish airports for&nbsp; connections to Kirkwall with Loganair.<\/p>\n<p>By train and ferry: Travel to Thurso via Inverness and catch the connecting bus to the John o&#8217;Groats ferry (June onwards), or to Wick and connect with Pentland Ferries terminal at Gill&#8217;s Bay (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.pentlandferries.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.pentlandferries.co.uk<\/a>). There are 3 ferries per day. Telephone Pentland Ferries on 01856 831226.<\/p>\n<p>By bus: Between&nbsp;June &#8211; August take the Orkney Bus (see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jogferry.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.jogferry.co.uk<\/a>) from Inverness Bus Station (stance 1) which connects with all ferries and passes very close to Gerraquoy \u2013 ask for the St. Margaret&#8217;s Hope road junction. There are two buses a day from Inverness at 07:30 and 12:00 noon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-1997\" src=\"http:\/\/orcadianwildlife.co.uk\/wPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/MV-Alfred-at-Dawn-with-Green-Business-text-300x218.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" srcset=\"https:\/\/orcadianwildlife.co.uk\/wPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/MV-Alfred-at-Dawn-with-Green-Business-text-300x218.jpg 300w, https:\/\/orcadianwildlife.co.uk\/wPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/MV-Alfred-at-Dawn-with-Green-Business-text-150x109.jpg 150w, https:\/\/orcadianwildlife.co.uk\/wPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/MV-Alfred-at-Dawn-with-Green-Business-text.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/>An alternative X99 bus service is provided by Stagecoach from Inverness (transfer at Dunbeath&nbsp; and Wick) which on weekdays connects with Pentland Ferries\u2019 sailings.<\/p>\n<p>By car: Travel via Wick to the Pentland Ferries terminal at Gill&#8217;s Bay and either leave your car at Gill&#8217;s Bay or take it on the ferry if you are staying longer on Orkney following your tour with Orcadian Wildlife. Alternatively drive to John O\u2019Groats and take the Jogferry to Burwick (passenger only in the summer months, see below).<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/wpress.orcadianwildlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/JoG-Ferry-2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-551\" title=\"John o'Groats Ferry\" src=\"http:\/\/wpress.orcadianwildlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/JoG-Ferry-2-300x225.jpg\" alt=\"John o'Groats Ferry\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/orcadianwildlife.co.uk\/wPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/JoG-Ferry-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/orcadianwildlife.co.uk\/wPress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/05\/JoG-Ferry-2.jpg 800w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a>Northlink Ferries operates to Orkney from Scrabster (near Thurso) to Stromness (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.northlinkferries.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.northlinkferries.co.uk<\/a>). Please note however that this option is some 30 miles distant from Gerraquoy and will require a 45 minute transit in Orkney. Northlink also operates a service to Kirkwall from Aberdeen.<\/p>\n<p>John O\u2019Groats Ferries also operate a passenger only ferry in the summer months between John O\u2019Groats and Burwick on South Ronaldsay (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.jogferry.co.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">www.jogferry.co.uk<\/a> telephone 0800 7317872).<\/p>\n<p>We will be pleased to collect you from the airport or ferry terminals and may be able to assist with your travel arrangements.
