DESCRIPTION:After 15 years of operation in Orkney\, our wildlife and cultur
 e tours have been finely honed to blend Orkney’s natural history with it
 s Neolithic\, Pictish and Viking sites. The good news is that all the arch
 aeological sites are in stunning natural settings\, and one is even an RSP
 B nature reserve! Imagine the sounds of skylarks\, and displaying curlews 
 and lapwings as you’re wandering around the Ring of Brodgar. In late Apr
 il\, expect to see returning seabirds such as auks and gannets\; and our w
 inter wildfowl such as great-northern divers and long-tailed ducks in supe
 rb summer plumage. Our speciality raptor\, the hen harrier\, should be dis
 playing or 'sky-dancing' at this time of the year\, a truly memorable sigh
 t. Three islands are visited: Hoy\, Shapinsay and South Ronaldsay\, and tw
 o days are spent on the Orkney Mainland. A ‘free day’ enables you to v
 isit Kirkwall\, and its cathedral and museum\, or else wander around your 
 hotel looking for other special birds and plants. Accommodation is provide
