ildlife & Archaeology Tour starting Saturday 17 June 2017 – Saturday 24 June 2017: tour leader Steve Sankey. This tour will visit the islands of Hoy, South Ronaldsay and Westray; and will visit the main archaeological sites of the Ring of Brodgar, Skara Brae and the Tomb of the Eagles. Expect to see several RSPB reserves, and around 80 species of birds, including our seabirds (puffins, gannets, auks, terns and skuas), birds of prey (sea eagle and hen harriers especially) and any spring migrants. Cetaceans are also a possibility during the months of May, June & July (orcas, minke whales, porpoises and dolphins). Accommodation will be provided in the 4* Sands Hotel in Burray, a converted herring packing station, overlooking Water Sound and part of Scapa Flow. See www.thesandshotel.co.uk
