For many of our Peedie House guests staying on the farm is an important part of their holiday. The farm is a working one, albeit small at only 5.7 ha (15 acres). Although we are not self-sufficient we produce our own organic beef, eggs, salad and vegetables, and have access to locally reared pork and lamb, and we will be pleased to sell our organic beef and eggs to self-catering visitors at the Peedie House.
We keep a small herd of native Shetland cattle, which is one of the rarest breeds in the UK, and work closely with one of our organic farming neighbours, Clive and Jill Strutt, to graze an additional area of herb-rich coastal machair at Manse Bay. This is a beautiful spot and one which our guests always enjoy visiting.
